Baseball

Baseball offers opportunities for young athletes to develop their skills and passion for the game. Our league emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship, catering to all age groups and skill levels. Join us and step up to the plate in the exciting world of baseball! 

  • Baseball will be offered two seasons per year, Spring and Fall. 

    • Spring season is approximately the last week of April through the last week of June.

    • Fall season is approximately the first week of September through the last week of October.

  • Divisions are primarily age-based and secondarily skill level

    • A player’s league age is their age as of January 1st of the league year

      • Players may play up in age divisions, but not down.

    • Boys or girls may register for baseball

    • 8 and under (8U) is coach pitch

    • 10 and under (10U) Beginner/Intermediate is modified player pitch

      • Coach finishes at-bats to own players once count reaches four balls

    • 10 and under (10U) Advanced, 12 and under (12U) and 14 and under (14U) are player pitch

    • Each age division may include a Beginner/Intermediate division and an Advanced division

    • Advanced divisions follow USSSA tournament rules

  • Registration fees are $135 per season

    • Includes practices and 12 games

  • Games are played on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays

    • Doubleheaders are possible but limited

  • Teams provide game balls

RULES

Player Eligibility

  • A player’s league age is determined as their age as of January 1st of the league year.
  • Players may play up in age divisions but are not permitted to play down.
  • League administrators reserve the right to require proof of age from any player at any time.

 


Rules of Play

8U–14U General Rules

  • Batting: Roster batting is required.
  • Equipment: Bats must be free of visible damage. Batters and runners must wear protective helmets.
  • Courtesy Runners: Allowed for the pitcher and catcher only with two outs; must be the player with the last batted out.
  • Scoring Limit: 5 runs per half inning (8U–12U).
  • Defensive Players: Minimum of 7 defensive players required to avoid forfeit.
  • Time Limit: 1 hour 15 minutes per game.
  • Playing Time: All rostered players must play a minimum of 3 defensive outs (exceptions for injured players).
  • Modified Extra Innings: Begin with one out, the last batted out placed on 2nd base, with a maximum of 1 extra inning.

8U Specific Rules

  • Runners may not leave their base until the ball is hit.

10U Specific Rules

  • Stealing is allowed, limited to one base per pitch, and only after the pitch leaves the pitcher’s hand.
  • No stealing home.

10U–14U Pitching Rules

  • Pitch Counts and Required Rest:
    • 1–20 pitches: 0 calendar days of rest.
    • 21–35 pitches: 1 calendar day of rest.
    • 36–50 pitches: 2 calendar days of rest.
    • 51–65 pitches: 3 calendar days of rest.
    • Over 65 pitches: 4 calendar days of rest.
  • Pitchers may exceed the pitch count to complete a turn at bat.
  • Pitchers may not enter a game with 5 or fewer eligible pitches remaining.
  • Pitchers cannot return to the mound after being removed.
  • Bunting is allowed.

12U–14U Additional Rules

  • Infield fly rule applies.
  • Dropped third strike rule applies.
  • Lead-offs and stealing are allowed.
  • Balks will be called.
  • Intentional walks are allowed.


Coaches

  • For coach-pitch games, 2 coaches are allowed on the field during defense.
  • In non-coach-pitch games, coaches must remain in the dugout during live play, except for 1st and 3rd base coaches when on offense.
